Boulder Yacht Club is a 501(c)(7) nonprofit sailing organization of sailors/boaters who call Boulder Marina home(port). We are the only yacht club on the eastern shore of Carlyle Lake, the largest man-made lake in Illinois. Our members enjoy promoting water safety and safe boating practices through sailing, motoring, kayaking, paddle-boarding, etc. Additionally, we give back to the community by fundraising for local charities through our Annual Charity Dinner. Some of the organizations we have raised funds for include Backstoppers, Hannah’s Playground, Got Your Six, Miracles in Progress, etc.
What sets Boulder Yacht Club apart from other yacht clubs is that we are arguably the closest-knit bunch of sailors and boaters on Carlyle Lake. Despite our differences in age, gender, boat preference, etc., many of us grow to think of each other as a sort of second family unit. We aren’t yuppies, and we aren’t yachters; we are people brought together by our love for time spent on the water. Some of us race, a number of us paddle, most of us party, but all of us spend as much time on the water as life will allow.
With your membership, you gain access to the numerous club events and parties which we rotate and update each year to provide fun opportunities for the whole family. Some of the activities and events Boulder Yacht Club is famous for include Tapas on the Docks, Pirate Party, Spero’s Spaghetti Dinner, Canoe Race, Seafood Charity Dinner, Survivor Party, Chili Cookoff, and more.
